Frequently Asked Questions
Is the program open to all nationalities?
Absolutely yes! We highly value diversity and inclusion and strive to ensure a diverse cohort for every New York Business Fellowship batch. Our focus is on skills, not status.
Which visa do I need and how do I apply for it?
If you are not a US citizen and your home country is part of the Visa Waiver Program (VWP), you are able to enter the U.S. for business or tourism without a visa for up to 90 days. Check out eligibility on the ESTA website. If the ESTA is not the right option for you, check out other visas on the U.S. Embassy website.
Does the participation to the NYBF grant me a visa?
No, the New York Business Fellowship does not provide visas of any kind. However, joining our network will grant you introductions, referrals, exclusive job opportunities, and a platform to connect with mentors and other fellows.
What does a day of the NYBF look like?
The program is customized according to the participants’ interests and backgrounds. For this reason, each batch is unique. Download the program sample from our website to get a sense of what it looks like. You may also get in touch with past fellows to ask about their experience!
Do you give feedback on application results?
Given the high competitiveness of the New York Business Fellowship, we are unable to provide individual feedback on each application. If you have not been selected, we recommend strengthening your future applications by seeking referrals and connecting with past fellows. Please note that a three-month waiting period from your previous application is required to prevent misuse of the reapplication process.
Can I become a mentor and what's the process like?
We take great care in selecting and evaluating our mentors. We analyze thousands of possible mentors’ profiles, including but not limited to spontaneous applicants. Only the top 3-5% is selected, whom we continue assessing through the feedback from all New York Business Fellows.
